Glen Hunter Obituary

Glen Hunter Jr., age 74, died of cancer at his home in Harbor Spring Michigan on July 28, 2022.

Glen was born on April 10, 1948 in Flint Michigan, the son of the late Glen (Sr.) and Marilyn (Shaw) Hunter. Glen was a dedicated father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend. Glen is survived by his cherished daughter, Heather Hunter, son in law, Alex Gershkovich, and granddaughters Brooke and Mia Gershkovich of Short Hills New Jersey. Glen is also survived by his wife, Donna Hunter, and four sisters: Jeanine and husband William Smith, Evelyn and husband Jack Brewster, Linda and husband Tom Myers, Joyce and husband Rich Thompson as well his very much-loved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Glen grew up in Flint Michigan. Glen was a veteran of the Vietnam war where he served as a Sergeant. He had a long career in the technology sector, working for a telecom company and then creating his own technology firm, specializing in tech design for schools. Glen also had a tech consulting business which included several overseas assignments. In his retirement, he was the founder and sole proprietor of the “Olde Sport'' store in Harbor Springs Michigan where he sold sports memorabilia and cigars and especially enjoyed talking with all of his customers. Glen was a true entrepreneur, with many other endeavors along the way. He was a contributing member of the Harbor Spring community, actively participating with the Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the local zoning board commission.

Glen loved spending time with his daughter and granddaughters and was a cherished father and “Poppop”. His interests included travel and immersion in other cultures, searching for historic artifacts and sports memorabilia, as well as socializing with family and friends. In accordance with Glen’s wishes, a cremation has taken place and celebration of his of his life with family will take place at a later date.
