Gordon "Kevin" Nichols

Gordon “Kevin” Nichols age 63 went home to be with Jesus on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was surrounded by guardian angels when his spirit was called home. 

Kevin met his wife Michelle in 1994 and proposed after only 6 weeks.  They celebrated 30 years of marriage this year.  Kevin & Michelle moved to the Pickerel Lake area of Petoskey in 1998 and purchased The Party Shoppe.  Although he was often quiet, he valued each and every person that patronized his store.  Kevin knew most everyone’s favorite beverage of choice and worked very hard to make sure he had what they liked.  Prior to owning The Party Shoppe, Kevin was a small engine mechanic and service manager for 20 years.

Kevin has ALWAYS been the very proud father of his sons Maxx 25 (fiance’ Jessica) and Mason 22, who follows in Kevin’s mechanical footsteps.  He truly loved his family, fur baby Vinny (who made him play hours of fetch) and his Party Shoppe staff/family.  Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Beverly Nichols, nephew Kristopher Nichols, and his mother & father-in-law Frances Bongiovanni and Richard Osmar.  Kevin will be missed by family, friends, and the Pickerel Lake community and proudly lives on through his wife and children.  Michelle, Maxx and Mason wish to acknowledge the abundance of love and support they have received from their church, Genesis, loving neighbors/friends on Pickerel Lake, all family & friends near and far, and all of the customers & friends of The Party Shoppe.

The family will host a gathering to remember and celebrate a life well-lived Saturday, Aug. 2, 10am-2pm, 1154 N. Ellsworth Road, Petoskey.
