Harriet Evelyn (Pontius) Kloss

Harriet Evelyn (Pontius) Kloss, 95 of Oden, Michigan, died on Friday June 6, 2025, at the Villa at the Bay in Petoskey, Michigan.

Daughter of Charles and Florence (Baker) Pontius, Harriet was born on July 3, 1929, in Harbor Springs, Michigan. She grew up in Harbor Springs and attended Harbor High School.

On June 1, 1963, she married James Andrew Kloss in Harbor Springs.

Harriet worked for Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also worked for Patchwork Gardens on Bester Road for her brother in Harbor Springs.

She enjoyed gardening and picking up seashells. Harriet also liked reading, canning food, thrift shopping, and she loved being outside in the fresh air.

Harriet is survived by her children: John Paul (Robyn) Kloss, Joan (Corey) Hebner, Brenda Kloss, Maria (David) Naujokas; and her grandchildren Haley, Aubrey, Spencer, David James, Kyle and Derek; and great-grandchild Henry.

She is preceded in death by her husband James Kloss; and her daughter Margaret Thompson.

A visitation will be held at Schiller Funeral Home on Friday June 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A rosary will begin at 7:30 PM.
