Helen Lewis, 92, of Petoskey, Michigan, in the presence of her two daughters, was called home to be with Jesus on October 2, 2025.
Helen was born on May 31, 1933, to Edward Fettig and Catherine Nadolsky, both of Petoskey. On June 16, 1951, she married the love of her life, Raymond Lewis of Petoskey. Together they had four children, Steven, Carlene, Debra and Judy.
Helen was a 4-H leader and taught sewing to several young girls and her three daughters. Over the years she worked at different local businesses and retired from Northern Michigan Hospital after 20 some years. In her retirement, Helen worked with Raymond at Bill's Farm Market which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Helen loved family get togethers, including picnics, playing games and just being together. Most everything she did included Raymond. Traveling in their camper, planting flowers, gardening, boating, watching sunsets over the lake and watching local wildlife that frequented there yard. She was an artist and loved to draw and paint with Ray complimenting some by making birch bark frames for them.
She loved collecting recipes, baking, making jams, canning and was known for her homemade relish and tartar sauce. She also enjoyed making coffee cake for the local Friendship Center.
Helen is survived by her sister Jeanette Elderkin of Grand Rapids; son Steven (Pamela) Lewis of Walloon Lake; her daughters: Debra Hardy of Boyne City and Judy Lewis of Petoskey; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, and a nephews.
Helen was proceeded in death by her husband Raymond; daughter Carlene Lewis; parents; four siblings and many other loved ones.
Services celebrating Helen's life will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025. Family welcomes you to join them at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral at 1:00 PM at Family of Christ Church, 2275 Resort Pike Road, Petoskey.
