Hertha Lucille (Ringo) Cosgrove

Hertha Cosgrove, age 100, of Petoskey Michigan passed away March 23, 2021 after a short illness at Bay Bluffs care facility in Harbor Springs. The Petoskey Area Community generously sent her cards and good wishes to help her joyously celebrate her 100th birthday in November. She is preceded in death by her parents William Esco and Maude (Carleton) Ringo of Longview, Illinois and her loving husband, Artimus Cosgrove, and four siblings. She is survived by many nieces and nephews who reside in the area and across the nation.

Hertha graduated business college and worked as the Correspondent Supervisor for Time-Life Magazine. The position she treasured the most was as the office manager at the National Headquarters for Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity in Champaign, Illinois. She met her husband on a blind date while he served in the United States Air Force based in Rantoul, Illinois. They were married on May 14,1954 and soon moved to his home area of Northern Michigan and resided on Pickerel Lake Road until his death in 1990.

Hertha was an avid reader and known for her delicious home cooking using ingredients from their large garden. She was an active member of Epsilon United Methodist Church and enjoyed the many Women group activities.

A memorial service will be held May 14th, visitation at 12:00, services at 1:00 at Stone Funeral Home with internment to follow at Curtiss Cemetery.
