Ian Pritchard Obituary

Ian John Pritchard, 29 of Boyne City, Michigan, passed away on February 3, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

Son of Ron and Linda (Gillespie) Pritchard, Ian was born in Huntington, West Virginia. He grew up in Boyne City and graduated from Boyne City High School. He completed one year at North Western Michigan College.

Ian succumbed to a fungal infection, blastomycosis, after fighting for three months. Ian worked for Rodrigo’s Mexican restaurant in Harbor Springs, Michigan. He worked alongside Rodrigo on the line and loved it. He worked in the food industry since graduating high school. Ian also dabbled in podcasting, had a lawn care business for a time, and shared a love of radio with his dad.

Ian was very much interested in music with an eclectic taste in multiple music genres and went to many concerts. He loved traveling. He was very artistic. He was a computer whiz. Ian also enjoyed fishing, camping, and gaming.

Most importantly, he was a good man with a loyal and giving heart that those who were lucky enough to know and befriend him will attest to. He is so greatly loved and missed.

Ian is survived by his parents Ron and Linda Pritchard; his sister Megan Pritchard; his aunt Kelly Williams: his uncles Darryl (Susie) Gillespie, and Mark (Shannon) Pritchard; his grandmother Norma Pontius and Brenda Taylor; and his  cousins: Molly (Cotton) Batchelor and family, Kyle (Don) Groh, Jamie (Melissa) Allen and family; Lindsey (Tim) Forbes and family, Mason Pritchard and family, and Anna (Bryant) Nehring and family.

He is preceded in death by his brother Trevor Lee Pritchard; grandfathers John Pritchard, Cebert Gillespie, L. John Pontius, and Robert Taylor; his aunt Cathy Allen Nunn; his cousin Stephanie Groh; and his dog and best friend Ivy.

There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.
