Irma J. (Miller) Washburn-Parrow, 94 of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away on July 18, 2025 at Munson Hospital in Charlevoix, Michigan.
Daughter of Rev. Ronald and Ethel (Vansiclen) Miller, Irma was born on March 3, 1931, in Horton Bay, Michigan. She grew up in Horton Bay and Port Huron, and attended school in Boyne City, Michigan and then went to Port Huron High. In high school Irma was active in chorus, solo training and ensemble.
On September 14, 1951, she married the love of her life Norman D. Washburn, who passed away in 1976. She then married Ralph L. Parrow on May 1, 1981, in Port Huron, who passed away in 1997.
Irma worked for Michigan Bell as a telephone operator for 16 years in Port Huron and Petoskey. She was a Sunday school teacher and active in her church.
She loved to play games and reading her bible and devotions. Family picnics, camping, singing and spending time with family were also very dear to Irma’s heart.
Irma was a member of the Alanson Church of the Nazarene and choir. She was also a member of the Friendship Center Senior Chorus.
She is survived by her daughters: Christy Weston, Beverly (Bruce) Dafoe, Nancy Washburn, Linda (Matthew) Waterman, and Jeannette Topolinski; and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and her cat, Lucy!
Irma is preceded in death by her husbands Norman Washburn and Ralph Parrow; son David Washburn; brother George Miller; sister Clover Taylor; and son-in-laws Bob Weston and Ed Topolinski.
Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Irma’s memory are suggested by family to give to the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society.
A funeral officiated by Pastor JT Blue will be on July 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Stone Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and burial will follow the funeral at Greenwood Cemetery.
