James Glenn Karlskin, 93, of Boyne City, Michigan, died on October 15, 2025, surrounded by family in his home.
James was born on July 29, 1932, in Advance, Michigan to Archie Dewey Karlskin and Emma Elizabeth Watson. He graduated from Boyne City High School, going on to become a carpenter and construction supervisor. He shared his life with Yvonne Marie (Elzinga) Karlskin, his wife.
In his spare time, James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his grandkids and, later, his great-grandkids. He was a member of the Northern Michigan Cancer Crusaders and the Masonic Lodge.
James is survived by his wife, Yvonne; his three daughters, Lisa (Tim) Roback, Chris Karlskin, and Gail (David) Molby; nine grandchildren, Nick Karlskin, Jeremy Karlskin, Justin Molby, David (Amber) Powers, Trista (Richard Idolski) Karlskin, James (Erica Bennett) Thompson, Allan (Angie) Thompson, John Paul (Alyssa) Thompson and Timothy (Sarah Holland) Roback; great-grandchildren Grace, Payton, Charlie, Olivia, Bristol, Wyatt, and Leighlynn; and special friends John and Helen Thompson.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Archia and Emma, as well as his in-law parents, seven siblings, and his children Jimmy, Diane, Kathy, David, and Donny.
A service will be held for James on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Stackus Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the caretakers at Munson Hospice.
