James W Williams, 91 of Cheboygan, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
A resident of the area since 1989, moving from Riverview, MI. James was born on December 18, 1933 in Nauvoo, Alabama, the son of Howard and Edra (Hyde) Williams.
James proudly served 8 years in the US Army, 82nd Airborne Division and retired Ford Motor Company in 1988 as Head of the Accounting Department.
In April 27, 1957, James married Arlene Palm at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Hazel Park and went on to raise four children: Amy, Craig, Keith, and Ann.
James enjoyed gardening, playing tennis, spending time on Mullet Lake with family, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. James and Arlene ultimately realized their dream and built their retirement home on Mullet Lake.
James is survived by his brothers, Dave Williams and Chuck (Joanne) Williams; 4 children, Amy (Al) Moczul, Craig (Deborah) Williams, Keith Williams, and Ann (Robert) Harwood; along with 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 61 years, Arlene; grandson, Alec Harwood; brother, Ken Williams; and sister, Delores Jones.
The family will be holding a private committal service at the Cross in the Woods, Shrine Cemetery in Indian River.
