Janada Ann-Rehkopf Chingwa

Janada Ann-Rehkopf Chingwa, 76, of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital on July 8, 2025. She was a victim of the Northern Michigan ice storm in March that weakened her heart and kidneys.

Daughter of Phillip and Hazel (Winks) Rehkopf, Janada was born on October 14, 1948, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She was married to Dan Chingwa for 35 years.

Janada was a life member of the Charlevoix Order and then Waldo Order of the General Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

She was the last member of her Swedish family bloodline.

Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Janada’s memory are asked to consider giving to her husband, Dan, to help him with unexpected funeral costs.
