Janet Rose (Landrie) Valot

Janet Rose Valot, 91 of Cheboygan passed away on July 25, 2025, at Medilodge of Cheboygan.

Janet was born on November 6, 1933, in Cheboygan, MI, the daughter of Charles Landrie and Gertrude Donaldson. She grew up in Cheboygan, graduating from Cheboygan High School. On September 15, 1952, she married Richard Valot in Cheboygan where they shared their lives camping, traveling, and enjoying the casino together. Janet worked at B & C family center in Cheboygan for many years until her retirement in the 1990’s. She was a member of the Cheboygan Lioness Club where she helped bake cookies for the annual Christmas Cookie bake sale.

Janet is survived by her children Betty (John) Lewis and Sandy (Ken) Owen, siblings Betty Winkler, Dave (Janet) Landrie, Chuck (Char) Landrie, John Landrie, Judy (Joe) Socha, Dan (Jeanne) Landrie, Gale (Randi) Landrie, Dale (Terry Makima) Landrie, Kristine Landrie, and brother-in-law Wayne Valot and Darleen Valot. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer (Dennis) Caplinger, Matthew (Jamilynn) Lewis, Steven (Aimee) Owen, Christopher (Joanna) Owen, and Scott (Kayla) Owen, great-grandchildren Quinn Caplinger, Iris Caplinger, Jason Owen, Haylee Owen, Covy Owen, Easton Owen, Ivy Owen, and a future great-grandbaby due in September. She was preceded by her husband Richard, her parents, and her siblings and siblings-in-law Barbara Landrie, Richard Winkler, Shirley Marsh, Patsy Ramsby and Sue Socha.

There are no services currently planned for Janet. There will be a burial in the Fall at the Riggsville Cemetery.
