Janine Louise Schmidt

Janine Louise Schmidt, 71, died February 17, 2025 at her home in Cheboygan.  Janine’s father, Garfield Schmidt, didn’t meet her until she was 16 months old. Janine was born soon after her dad was sent overseas during the Korean War. Her mother Doris Schmidt, lived with Gar’s family while he was in the service. Janine was the oldest of four daughters. She attended Bishop Baraga School through eighth grade, graduating from Cheboygan High School, attending Nursing College to obtain a license in nursing as a LPN.

Janine is survived by two daughters, Stephanie and Amber both of Cheboygan. Two grandchildren, Nevaeh and Axel, two sisters, Melanie (Dennis) Eno and Alison (Phil) Milligan, aunt Faye Robidou and many Cousins, nephews and nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Margo Feenan, grandparents Bernard and Mary Deroshia and Ethel Dwyer.

No service is planned.  A gathering of family and friends will be held later this summer.
