Jean Anne (Craighead) Blumke

Jean Anne Blumke, 68 of Alanson, died August 4, 2019 at Hiland Cottage hospice in Petoskey.

Jean was born on September 20, 1950, the daughter of Millard and Winnie Belle (Pugh) Craighead in Roanoke, Virginia.

On April 1, 1972, she married Marvin Blumke. They moved to Alanson in 1991 and she started working for Boyne Highlands for 21 years, until her retirement in October, 2012.

Jean's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her husband, Marvin of Alanson; her three children, Mark (Erica) Blumke of Centerville, OH, Shannon (Ben) Evans of Indian River, and Kathy (Neil Jones) Blumke of Millersville, MD; 11 grandchildren, Bayleigh, Kiera, Skylar, Curran "CJ", Keegan, Hunter, Savannah, Marley, Raigen, Adriana and Sophia; and siblings, Martha (Scott) Muth, Ruth (Rodney) Fisher, Robbin (Scott) Womack, Doug (Karen) Craighead, and Johnny Craighead.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Billy Craighead and Tony Craighead.

Services will be held at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Pastor Sherry McGuffin will officiate.
