Jean Grimm Obituary

Jean Grimm, nèe Jean Watson, was born March 21, 1925, in Freeport, Illinois to Thomas Jefferson Jackson Watson and Hazel Ione (McKay) Watson. She attended middle and high school in Blanchardville, Wisconsin, and completed her nursing degree at the University of Wisconsin as a U.S. Army Corps Nurse Cadet. She met and married her husband of 56 years, William Nelson Grimm, while he was attending UofW on the G.I. bill.

After marriage, Bill and Jean settled in Boyne City, where they attended First Presbyterian Church and raised their three children.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and infant son Gordon.

She is survived by her sister Shirley Kevill, her children Garry (Ann), David (Julia), Mary (Scott) Bunker, twelve grandchildren (Caroline, Andrea, Allison, Alexandra, Jeffrey, Barbara, Meredith, Ryan, Sarah, Leslie, Maura and Kyle), and six great-grandchildren (Abraham, Aria, Lawrence, William, Belle and Luca).

First as a pediatric surgical nurse, and later as a parapro in Boyne City Middle School, Jean lived a life of generous, welcoming service and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She died peacefully, surrounded by her children. She will be deeply missed, but we know that she is rejoicing before the throne of God.

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24th at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Boyne City, Pastor Bob Faulman presiding. A visitation and honoring will be held later Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City.
