Joan DuVal Tebo, 79, of Walloon Lake, Michigan, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 27, 2025.
Joan was born May 22, 1946, in Washington, DC, to Virginia DuVal. Joan was raised in East Lansing, Michigan, and graduated from MSU with a master’s degree in Fine Arts, a degree in Interior Design, a degree in Art Education, and a degree in Ceramics.
Throughout her life, Joan was known for her radiant smile, gracious spirit, and remarkable artistic talent. She was an accomplished watercolor painter, ceramic artist, and dedicated art teacher who inspired many with her creativity and passion.
Joan is lovingly remembered by her husband Art Tebo; two children Corey Tebo and Kristen (Brian) Sheehan; and granddaughter Evelyn Sheehan. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia; and grandmother Estella McCloud.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength and devotion to her family and friends. Her warmth and love touched all who knew her, and her memory will be treasured forever.
Tribute chairlift rides to the Highlands Chapel, where Art and Joan were married, will take place on June 27, 2026, starting at 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A celebration of Joan's life will be held at The Highlands Country Club, in Harbor Springs, Michigan, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for a social hour, followed by lunch from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to malorie.reno@boynehighlands.com
