Obituary
Joe Zalac of Cheboygan, age 99, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wives Mary Zalac, and Judy Hagstrom. Father of Richard (Sally), Gary, and Michael; grandfather of Robert, Karen, Brian, Derrek, Hannah, Madalyn and Alayna Zalac.
He was born and raised in Detroit, moving to Cheboygan in 1971. He served in the Marines during WWII, loved watching and playing sports, and was an exceptional handy-man. Enjoyed conversing, laughing with others, and went out of his way to be helpful.
