John Czarniecki Obituary

John Czarniecki, 84, of Boyne City, Michigan, passed away on August 6, 2025, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, Michigan.

Son of Walter and Helen (Siwik) Czarniecki, John was born on July 27, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. John grew up in Detroit and graduated from St. Andrews Catholic School.

On October 6, 1962, he married Joanne Puk at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Detroit.

John was a sales representative for Michaels and Associates. He was also the business owner of the Country Star restaurant in Boyne City.

When John was young, he learned to play the accordion that led to a local television show appearance. He also played the piano and organ and had a band named The Capriis where they played at several wedding receptions and other events. John loved Jazz, big band sound to smooth listening. He loved to dance with his wife, Slow Dancing to Polkas where they flew around the dance floor – amazing!

John loved to play golf, cards, and dominos with his grandkids. He also enjoyed reading, and going on walks with his wife.

He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. John was also a proud member of the Boyne Valley Community Knights of Columbus Council 6314. While in the Knights of Columbus John participated in many community activities that the Knights help facilitate, including the: Tootsie Roll Drive, Spelling Bee, Christmas parties for people with disabilities, Bingo at the Polish Fest, and many more. He was a Knight for 61 years.

John was loved by everyone. He cared about helping people and being there for the community.

He is survived by his loving wife Joanne; his two sons Jeffrey and John, Jr. (Dorene); grandchildren Christopher, Crystal, and Nicole; siblings Tom, Dan (Christy), Bernie, and Marianne; nephews Jim, Michael, Danny, and Sean (Alison); nieces Allie, Kellien (Ernest), Kara, Meghan, and Gabrielle; and many cousins.

John is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Helen; and his brother Wladziu.

A visitation will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Boyne City on August 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and rosary will begin at 7:00 PM. The funeral Mass will be on August 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.

A visitation will also be held at Pixley Funeral Home in Auburn Hills, Michigan, on August 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan on August 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Hedwig Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of Stackus Funeral Home of Boyne City, and Pixley Funeral Home of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
