Joseph Victor Jarema

Joseph Victor Jarema, 82, of Boyne Falls, passed away at Medilodge in Cheboygan on Thursday, September 22, 2022. He was born on August 20, 1940, the son of Stanley and Martha (Bowman) Jarema in Boyne Falls, Michigan.

Joseph grew up in Boyne Falls where he graduated from high school and later went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Michigan University. He worked as a school teacher for many years while also working as a mechanic and in maintenance.

Joe enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also like to build things, do fabrication, weld, and work in his shop. Joe was a member of the Northern Michigan Flywheelers Association.

Joe is survived by his children: Joseph Jarema and Lori Hurst, grandchildren: Marlee, Alexandra, and Carrie Jarema; Jared, Jordan, and Jaden Hurst, siblings: Leon and Mark Jarema and Susan Williams, nieces and nephews:  Eric, Peter, and Elaine Jarema; Katelyn Kloss, Stuart Williams, and Anne Freson.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will take place at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyce City on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 11am with family greeting friends one hour prior. Father Denny Stillwell will officiate.
