Joseph Richardson Obituary

Joseph “Joe” Barry Richardson, 65, of Alanson, Michigan passed away on April 4, 2025. Joe was born on May 30, 1959, in Petoskey, Michigan to Marjorie (Haase) Richardson and Ralph Leo Richardson, Sr. Joe grew up in Harbor Springs and graduated from Harbor Springs high school in 1977. On June 1, 1985, he married Sally Stebe at Harbor Springs United Methodist Church.

Joe was a deeply caring and giving person and he was always willing to share his abundance with others. He prioritized providing 100% of himself in his business and personal relationships, and he expected the same of others. Joe was a person of great integrity and authenticity, warm and affectionate. He left an indelible mark on his family and community and will be greatly missed by those who were lucky to know him.

In his spare time Joe enjoyed deer hunting and was a master carpenter. He owned several well-maintained antique vehicles and enjoyed taking them to car shows as a part of local fundraisers. Sharing his knowledge and being a mentor were deeply important to him.

He is survived by his adoring wife Sally Ann (Stebe) Richardson; sisters-in-law Shirley Atten and Linda (Bob) Wager; brothers Ralph (Dorothy) Richardson, Bob Richardson, and Patrick (Diane) Richardson; sister Kathy (Glenn) Stead; many nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alan Richardson.
