Joseph Ruger Obituary

Joseph F. Ruger, age 81, of Cheboygan passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 13, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY. On May 13, 1975, Joe married Sue Carol Wallace.

Joe served in the United States Coast Guard and proudly retired after 20 years of service. He enjoyed music, DJing, classic cars and bowling.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Carol, stepchildren, Jennings Couture, Timothy Couture, Scott Couture, Sheri Johnson and Michelle Stendel, son, Joseph Ruger, Jr., 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cheboygan County VA, the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
