Judy K. Lightfoot, age 72, of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on July 3, 1952, in Zeeland, Michigan to Gerald and Geneva Lubbers. Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Randy; her sons, Jason and Derek; her cherished grandchildren—Brett, Sonya, Arianna, Kaliah, Zane, and Deron; and her great-grandson, Xavior. She is also survived by her siblings, Jane, Beth, Paul, and Dale. Judy was preceded in death by her beloved son, Nicholas Lightfoot, in 2010 and parents, Gerald and Geneva Lubbers.
Judy’s life was a beautiful reflection of her strong faith in Jesus Christ and her deep love for her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures—gardening, quilting, cooking delicious meals, exploring the outdoors, and camping with Randy and their loyal dog, Phin. She was known for her creativity, her peaceful spirit, her generosity, and the way she encouraged and uplifted those around her. Above all, Judy treasured time spent with her family.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, May 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Stones Funeral Home, 2098 Mitchell Rd, Petoskey, MI 49770. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery, 105 Greenwood Rd, Petoskey, MI 49770.
Judy’s warmth, strength, and quiet joy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
