Karen (Laning) Dibble

Karen Dibble 74, of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 28, 2021 .

A loving mother, grandmother and sister. Her kind nature will be remembered by us all.

Born in Kalamazoo on February 7, 1947 to Andrew Laning and Madeline (Jackie) Nuyen. She grew up in Oshtemo, Michigan and was very fond of her family and friends there.

She married Richard Hill of Portage, on June 27, 1964. They had two children Patricia and Richard. She later Married Charles Dibble of Vicksburg. She later moved to Petoskey to help raise her granddaughters. She dedicated her life to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She worked at many jobs in her life. From a librarian in Vicksburg and Plainwell, to a legal assistant in Ventura, California. Her favorites were working in the UP for 20 years and at Ottawa Elementary in Petoskey. Entertaining and helping the children at lunch time brought her great joy.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Kelly) Sherman of Manistique, her son Richard (Sherri) Hill of Petoskey, grandchildren Holly (Dave) Gould of Manistique, Ashley and Cassidy Hill of Petoskey, great-grandchildren Mikie and Kyla Bouche of Manistique, sisters Andrea Linck of Mattawan, Pam (Dennis) Kleeman of Manistique, brothers Andrew (Serap) Laning of Monument  CO, Gary (Pam) Laning of Schoolcraft, Jon (Trish) Sieling of Mattawan, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Madeline, stepfather Ken Sieling, brothers Ken and Terry Sieling.

We will have a celebration of her wonderful life at a later date.
