Kathleen Ann (Bellay) Sunday

There will be services on Tuesday, April 23, 2023, at 11 a.m., at Cross in the Woods Catholic Shrine for Kathleen A. Sunday, 77, of Petoskey, MI, who passed away on the evening of Thursday, April 11, from post-cancer therapy complications. There will be an Open Visitation  one hour before the 11 a.m. service.

She was born April 3, 1947, in Warren, OH, a daughter of George Jr. and Josephine Bellay.

A 1969 graduate of Kent State University, Mrs. Sunday received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Cincinnati in 1972. She was an educator in the Cincinnati Public School System and at NCMC for many years and was a loving mother.

She split membership time between Holy Childhood Church and Cross in the Woods Catholic Shrine.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael T. Sunday, M.D. of Petoskey, MI; a brother, Theodore Bellay (Barbara) of Warren, OH; a sister, Georgeanne Selby of Warren, OH; a daughter, Tonya Sunday Kurtzman (Gary) of Orinda, CA; a son, Michael G. Sunday (Kim) of Sulligent, AL; a son, Aaron J. Sunday of Naples, FL, along with nephews, nieces, and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents George Jr. and Josephine Bellay and her loving sister-in-law Judith J. Sunday.
