Kathryn Ruth (Nairn) Bisher, 79, of Napoleon, Ohio and Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at home on Silver Beach Rd, Cheboygan, Michigan. Kathryn was born on May 28, 1946, to the late George and Helen (Baumann) Nairn in Toledo, Ohio and grew up in Toledo and Fort Worth, Texas. She was a 1964 graduate of Paschal High School in Fort Worth.
In 1967, she received her Bachelor’s degree in education from Texas Woman's University and later her Master’s degree in Library Science from North Texas State University. Kathryn taught multiple grade levels and ended her 30-year career as a high school librarian retiring from Napoleon (Ohio) Area Schools. She was an avid animal lover and volunteered for the Henry County Ohio Humane Society and served on their Board of Directors.
The family would like to thank all the friends and caregivers who supported her fight with leukemia, particularly those at Karmanos Cancer Center in Petoskey, Michigan.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jon Bisher; sons, Andrew and Matthew Kovich and Tod and Mat Bisher; daughters-in-law, Tonya Kovich, Amanda Kovich, Jodi Bisher, and Gail Bisher; grandsons, Justin and Ryan Kovich, Matthew Kovich, and Hudson Bisher; granddaughters Sara Kovich, Peri Bisher, and Landry Bisher; granddaughter-in-law, Olivia Kovich; and great-grandson, Lincoln Kovich.
A memorial gathering for Kathryn will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 from 2:00-5:30 at Grace Polaris Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Henry County Ohio Humane Society.
