Kenneth Edward Crane, 68, of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at his home.
Ken was born January 18, 1955, in Flint, Michigan; the son of Kenneth James Crane and Martha Tarver. He grew up in Flint, and attended the Leelanau school. On June 16, 1979, he married Robin Hesselgrave. Ken loved cooking, and raised his three children, and countless others that were taken in by the Crane family. Ken had many passions in life, two of which were his reenactment organizations: The American Mountain Men, and the Black Creek Regulators. Ken’s other big passion was rescuing dogs, such as Great Pyrenees. It wasn’t often that he would be seen without a massive dog at his side. Ken loved his family above all else, and is survived by his wife Robin; his sister, Cathy, his brother, David, three children: Megan, Jennifer, and Travis; his 9 grandchildren: Toby, Lainey, Matthew, Jonah, Amelia, Charlotte, Edith, Bella, and Molli.
There will be a memorial service at the Lakeside Cabins in Carp Lake on June 10, 2023, from 12 noon - 4:00 p.m. at Cabins 4 and 5.
Donations in Ken’s name and memory may be directed to National Great Pyrenees Rescue for memorial donations: https://nationalpyr.org/donate-dogs/.
