Kenneth Hoover of Springvale Township was welcomed into heaven by his Lord and Savior on January 24, 2021.
Ken was born on July 27, 1923 to Robert and Ann Elizabeth Hoover. He grew up and attended school in Springvale Township, MI. He graduated from Petoskey High School. Ken married the love his life of 70 years, Mae Eichler on January 5, 1944 at the United Missionary Church in Bliss Township. They made their home in Petoskey where they raised three children: Carol, Kenneth, and Richard.
Ken loved working on their Petoskey farm where he and Mae raised Guernsey cows for several years. In addition to working on his farm, Ken also worked many years at the Penn-Dixie Cement Plant in Petoskey.
Ken was a valued member of the Epsilon United Methodist Church, serving as superintendent and an usher for many years. He loved spending time with the children of the church, often giving them candy he always had in his pocket for them. One of his greatest joys was singing songs of worship at his church and American House.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mae, his son Kenneth, his parents, Robert and Ann Elizabeth Hoover, and all his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children Carol of Belleville, Richard (Lisa) of Petoskey; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
He will be remembered as someone who lived life day by day with a kind heart and a great love for his family, his farm, and his church.
The Hoover family would encourage those wishing to remember Ken to do so with memorial contributions to the Epsilon United Methodist Church.
