Ken Joseph Rau, age 70 of Boyne City died peacefully at his home on May 21, 2022, nine years after a severe stroke.
Ken was born on June 9, 1951 in Flint, MI and grew up in Mt. Morris. His many talents included building and remodeling. He accomplished building his home and the beloved cabin in the U.P. He enjoyed motorcycles, snowmobiling, boating, fishing and hunting.
Ken is survived by his wife Rose of 52 years and two daughters Rebecca Smigiel of Rockford, MI and Amy Pellerito of Boyne City; and special niece Tina (Justin) Rouleau of Boyne City. Their five grandchildren include Amber, Cassandra & Jared Smigiel Gabe and Dylan Pellerito; sister Elaine (Art) Whitmore; brothers Chris Rau and Tony (Jackie) Rau; sister-in-law Robin (Jim) Berry and brother-in-law’s Bob (Ruth) Nichols, Rick (Trini) Nichols, Roger (Sue) Nichols and Russ (Lisa) Nichols; and many more nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to come and remember the good times and to raise a drink to honor the life of Ken Rau. The gathering will take place 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Ken’s house; 652 E. Main Street, Boyne City, MI 49712.
