Obituary
LaVonne Ione Schaefer, age 95 of Cheboygan passed away peacefully September 18, 2022. She was born April 16, 1927 in Blairsburg Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Fern Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband John Howell and her second husband Robert Schaefer. Lavonne was the sole survivor of four siblings; he sister Phyllis, and her brothers Keith and Claude.
She enjoyed spending her winters in Alva, Florida at Oak Park for 32 years. She spent summers in Cheboygan at her home on Black River until she moved into the Brook. Lavonne always loved giving and receiving cards. She would make any occasion, be it birthdays, anniversaries, or graduations with a personal card.
She is survived by her daughter Cyndi Earhart, and three sons; Timothy (Joanne) Howell, John Howell, and David (Kris) Howell. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild.
The family would like to thank The Brook of Cheboygan and Hospice of Northern Michigan for taking wonderful care of their mother in her last years.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made in Lavonne’s name to Hospice of Northern Michigan, 10850 E Traverse Hwy STE 1155, Traverse City, Michigan 49684. Cremation has taken place and the family will be celebrating LaVonne’s life privately.
