Laura Kirstin (Donoghue) Stencel

Laura Kirsten Stencel, 55, of Pellston, Michigan, formerly of Ringwood, New Jersey, passed away on August 29, 2025.

Born on July 6, 1970, Laura lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She married the love of her life, Joseph Stencel, and together they built a beautiful family. She was a devoted wife and a proud mother to Alexis (Stencel) Combs and Daniel Stencel.

Laura had a natural gift for helping others, which led her to her career as a registered dental assistant. Beyond her work, she will always be remembered for her lively spirit and unique passions. She had a deep love for animals and pets of all kinds, always offering them kindness and care. Whether it was welcoming animals into her home or keeping them close in her heart, her compassion for them was as boundless as her love for people.

She cherished being outdoors—whether it was tending to her garden, caring for her plants, or finding joy in feeding the hummingbirds that would roam near her home.

Athletic and determined from an early age, Laura earned a full-ride scholarship to play soccer in college. Her speed, strength, and competitive spirit were admired by all who knew her—she could outrun just about anyone.

Laura’s love extended deeply to her family, including her parents, Daniel and Arlene Donoghue; her brothers, Michael Donoghue and Dan Donoghue; and son-in-law Darrin Combs. She will be remembered for her warm heart, playful humor, and the way she made every moment brighter.

Her legacy lives on through the love she shared and the memories she created with those around her.

Services to honor and celebrate Laura’s life will be announced by her family.
