Leo Golke Obituary

Leo was born on September 30, 1930 to Carl and Teophile (Kalis) Golke in Boyne Falls Mich. 

He graduated from East Jordan high school in 1948.  Leo had many jobs including Saginaw transmission, plastering, and small shops.  He spent some time in Florida doing plastering until he was needed back home on the farm. He retired from farming which is what he loved doing most.  He was a member of Faith Lutheran church and was a member there until its closing.  Leo held many positions there.  After that he was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran church in Petoskey until his passing.

Leo married on June 2, 1962 to Elsie (Brewer) Golke to which 5 children were born Lynn (Jeff) Talarico of Naples Florida, Lawrence (Cheryl) Golke of Big Rapids, Eileen (Joe) Bruman of Kingsley, Jon Golke of East Jordan, Phil Golke (Shannon Pemble) of Petoskey.  He had 9 siblings, Carl, Lydia Dittmar, Margaret Krueger, Olga Lick, Freida Rose, and Esther Garbow, all deceased and Ida Krampe living in Grandville, Ella Bovee living in Saginaw, and Eric living in Haslett.  There are 18 grandchildren including one deceased, 15 great grandchildren.  Many nieces and nephews  

A visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, May 29, 2020 at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City.  A private family service will be held and burial will take place at Maple Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL
