Linda Sue Badalucco

Linda Sue Badalucco of Carp Lake, Michigan, died peacefully at Hiland Cottage Hospice in Petoskey, Michigan on November 8th, 2021.

Linda was born and raised in Detroit. She moved to Petoskey with her parents and younger brother in 1973. Northern Michigan was definitely her place. She loved it up here, especially her life in her cabin in the woods in Carp Lake.

Linda's life was not an easy one having been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age seven. However, she never let her disease hold her back.

She met every new challenge head on and always lived her best life - on her own terms.

Linda loved the great beauties of the natural world and was dedicated to the preservation of nature. She loved traveling and camping which she did alone or sometimes with a sister or a friend. She'd been from Alaska to the Florida Keys, the Redwoods of California to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and so many places in between.

Linda also loved this great country of ours. She was politically active, participating in protests and marches and expressing her feelings and opinions through her letters to the editor and her congress people. She was never afraid to speak truth to power and stand up for what was right.

She will be missed by her many friends, some of whom were life-long and many that she met after moving to Northern, Michigan. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony & Leotah Badalucco and her younger adopted brother, Dan, whom she was so devoted to. 

She leaves behind five siblings - Tony, Kathy, Tom, Sharon and Nancy, her brothers-in-law Bill and Dean, a niece, five nephews, two great- nieces and two great nephews all of whom she loved dearly. We'll miss you Linnie, but are so happy that you have now achieved the peace and comfort you so richly deserve.

Gifts in Linda's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date.
