Linda Ann Lorusso, 70, of Petoskey, Michigan, passed away on April 24, 2026, in Petoskey, Michigan. Linda was born on November 16, 1955, in Camden, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Harry V. Lorusso and Evelyn Pelotte, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Runnemede, New Jersey and attended Triton Regional High School, class of 1974.
Linda is survived by her beloved daughter, Samantha Lorusso, with whom she shared a deeply devoted and unconditional bond. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Joseph Conti; her niece, Kimberly Lee-Johnson, her husband Michael, and their three children Mick, Eva, and Reed; and her niece, Jessica Lovay, her husband Justin, and their son Calvin. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Donna Lorusso; her niece Gina Lorusso; and her nephew, Steven Lorusso and his wife Shania and their three children.
Linda dedicated much of her professional life to being a Communication Software Specialist with various cable companies such as: Charter Communications, Cable ONE, and DST Innovis. She also spent six years with the Petoskey News-Review as an Advertising Associate. She later served as an Administrative Assistant/Event Coordinator for Emmet County, where she worked until her retirement. In her personal life, Linda was known for her creativity and craftsmanship, particularly her talent for crocheting and sewing.
A kind and generous woman, Linda gave freely of her time and energy, especially in her retirement years. She volunteered for many organizations, including the Great Lakes Center for the Arts. She later became a Foster Grandparent through the Americorps Senior Volunteer Program where she worked closely with children at Central Elementary in Petoskey. There, she combined her love for crafting with her passion for helping others, often creating crocheted animals and toys that brought joy to the children she served.
She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the love she showed to those around her—especially her daughter, Sammi, of whom she was endlessly proud.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Petoskey Waterfall off Bayside Road near downtown Petoskey. Flowers and cookies are welcome, and a light lunch will be provided. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by reaching out to Samantha Lorusso.
