Lois McAfee Obituary

Lois Ann McAfee, 81, of Rochester Hills, MI, died on April 19, 2026, at Waltonwood University Retirement Community in Rochester Hills, MI.

Lois was born on November 5, 1944, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Clarence and Doris (Wines) McAfee.  She grew up in Detroit, was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church and attended high school at St. Cyril.  She later earned an associate’s degree from Macomb County Community College and retired from DuPont in 2010.

Spending time with her family during holidays and traveling on vacation, especially near the ocean, were among Lois’ greatest loves in life.

She is survived by her daughter, Lauren (Nicky) McKenna of Richmond, VA, and son, Stuart (Tina) Schafrick of Rochester Hills, MI; grandchildren, Samantha (Robert) Leach, Zackery Schafrick, Kaira Schafrick, Andrew Schafrick, and Evan Schafrick; great-grandchildren, Finnegan, Marcus and Miranda Leach; nieces, Mary (Jim) Norris, Anne (Joe) Stemmer, Carol Hartley, and Linda (Chris) LaTocha; nephews, Joseph (Lauren) Stemmer and Stephan Stemmer.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Doris Jean, and brother-in-law Alex Sadowski.

A memorial service celebrating Lois’ life will be held at Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Indian River on June 5, 2026, at 11:00am.  Interment will be at Cross in the Woods Catholic Shrine Cemetery of Indian River.
