Lorenda (Baker) Sevenski

Lorenda Gay Sevenski, Age 58 of Elmira passed away at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, on Feb 11, 2021. Lorenda was born April 20, 1962 to Smokey and Velva Baker of Elmira. She graduated from Boyne Falls Public School in 1981 and on May 2nd 1987, married Roger Sevenski. Together they had 2 children, Clarissa & Jack. Family was always first, she loved camping and going on vacation with them. Her hobbies included mushrooming, playing cards and baking/cooking for others. She just loved life and everyone in it. Those who knew her, will remember her heart of gold, infectious laugh and being the most caring and giving person

She was a big supporter of all sports at Boyne Falls Public School, especially Logger basketball. Lorenda worked many jobs throughout her life, Boyne Mountain,  United Technologies, Village Kitchen, Roberts Restaurant, and Dura to name a few. She worked the last 20 years at Odawa Casino in Petoskey.

She is survived by her husband Roger Sevenski of Elmira, Daughter Clarissa (Cory) Handy of Elmira, Son Jack Sevenski of Elmira, and Grandaughter Arya. Sisters Mary Lou Baker of Romeo, Deb (Terry) Coon of Elmira, Tami (Fred) Figiel of Elmira. As well as many nieces and nephews. Lorenda is preceded in death by her parents Velva and Smokey Baker, Brother Steven R Anthony, Mother-in-Law Lula Bell Sevenski, Brother-in-Law John Sevenski and Nephew Clifford Baker III.

Visitation will be held 4-8pm Thursday February 18th to the public at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City. A funeral service will be held 11:00am Friday February 19th at the Walloon Lake Community Church. Burial will take place at Boyne Valley Township Cemetery in the spring.
