LouAnne Banks, 89, of Harbor Springs, passed away on November 19, 2025.
Born in Traverse City, Michigan, to Lewis and Eunice Gray, LouAnne spent her life working with animals, growing flowers, fruit, and vegetables and enjoying the outdoors. She was a longtime 4-H leader, teaching young people to care for horses. She taught riding, showing, and games on horseback. She always had a dog or two with her and they were well taken care of.
She helped in elementary schools with special needs children for several years.
She loved bird watching and reading mysteries late into the night.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William Banks; daughters Barbara and Debbie; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Barbara; and brother Ed.
LouAnne’s family will celebrate her life privately at a future date.
