Lucille Clark Obituary

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Lucille V. Clark, who peacefully passed away on February 23, 2025 at the age of 92.

Lucille was born on July 30, 1932 in River Rouge, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Germaine (Falardeau) Poirier.  At a young age, her family moved to Cheboygan and as such, Lucille grew up in Cheboygan, graduating from the Cheboygan Catholic High School with the Class of 1950, later continuing on and receiving her teaching certificate and teaching in the Harrison, MI area.

Lucille then married a Detroit Firefighter, Kenneth “Ken” Clark and the two made their home in the Detroit area until his retirement in 1981, when the two moved back north to Cheboygan, and have resided here since.  While in Cheboygan, Lucille held many jobs, including a Federal Position with ASCS in the Cheboygan County Building.  Ken preceded Lucille in death on March 22, 2019.

She was a member of the St Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church and various organizations inside the church, the Red Hat Society, and formerly sat on the Cheboygan City Zoning Board and other city and county boards.  She enjoyed cooking, playing the organ, reading, traveling, and being involved with the Cheboygan Opera House, but her greatest joy was socializing with her O’Brien Drive Neighbors.

Lucille is survived by her niece, Joanne and Jim Day; the members of extended Clark family; great nieces and nephews, Steven (Shanyn) Day, Leanne (Jeremy) Kellogg and by their two daughters, Parker Ann and Elliott Leona; Rev. Kellan (Kai Koopman) Day, Dawn Crawley and her son Patrick Crawley; and by her special cousin, Barb Kwiatkowski.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken Clark; siblings, Muriel (Art) Crawley, Peter (Ann) Poirier, Therese Poirier, Rev. Joseph Poirier and Rita Poirier; and by her nephews, Paul Crawley and Scott Crawley.

A funeral Mass celebrating Lucille’s life will be held at the St. Mary’s/St Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan on Friday, February 28th at 11 am.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10 am until the time of service.  Lucille will be laid to rest at the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cheboygan.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Lucille’s honor to the Cheboygan Opera House, Bishop Baraga Catholic School, or Compassionate Ministries Inc/Lord’s Kitchen in Cheboygan.
