Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Lucy Rose Barrette (Tootie) passed away on June 19th, 2022 at the age of 94 years old.
She was born on September 23rd, 1927 to Anthony and Amelia (Rocheleau) Jarvis in Cheboygan, Michigan. Her parents, brother Frank, and sister Marion Ratelle preceded her in death.
In 1949, she married the love of her life, Leonard Barrette who preceded her in death in September 2021. They celebrated 72 years of marriage. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Sandy Borowicz (Harold) Cheboygan, Denny Barrette (Betsy) Cheboygan, Barb Gabriel (Jim) Arcadia, OH, Lenny Barrette (Rose Mary) Cheboygan, and JoAnn Schmidt Nadkarni (Raj) Lakewood Ranch, FL.
She was proud of her 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by numerous extended family members and friends throughout Cheboygan and Mullett Lake communities.
Lucy graduated from Cheboygan Catholic High School and took pride working at an early age at the Candy Kitchen in Cheboygan and continued her career at Century Products. She loved serving the Cheboygan area as a US Postal Carrier for several years. Beyond everything else, she overflowed with pride when she talked and reminisced about her family.
Visitation will be at Nordman Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 22nd from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A one hour visitation will take place on June 23rd at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by the funeral at 11:00 am. We will continue with a graveside service to be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery on Mullett Lake Road. Lucy’s celebration of life is taking place at The Great Lakes Grill beginning at 1:00 pm.
