M. Joan Burnett Obituary

M. Joan Burnett, 93 of Cheboygan, MI passed away March 24th, 2024. Joan was born July 9th,
1930 in Petoskey to Joseph and Erma Deschermeier. She married the love of her life Arthur R.
Burnett June 29th, 1950 at St. Francis Church in Petoskey, MI.

Joan started her work with Michigan Bell in Petoskey. She and her husband then moved to
Cheboygan for Arthur's work at Krogers. Joan worked with Shoppers Fair, B&C, Glen's, and at
Court Street. Joan was a devoted member of St. Mary's/St. Charles Church, a member of
Daughters of Isabella, Task Force and helped with 4-H at Bishop Baraga Catholic School. She
loved to spend time crocheting hats, doll clothes, slippers, knitting, and sewing. She attended
many craft shows and was always planning her next garage sale. Her very dear friends, Peggy
LeBlanc, Kathleen Kwiatkowski and Shirley Blaskowski kept her busy with countless visits,
farmer's market trips and going out to lunch around town. Joan moved to The Brook of
Cheboygan in February to "live her best life", having coffee, playing games and just loving her
new friends.

Joan is survived by her children Arthur Burnett, Phillip (Terri) Burnett and Sheila Fimbinger, all of
Cheboygan. Her grandchildren Jessica (Ralph), Marissa, Madison and Warren Farver, Myles
(Katie), Connor and Cammie Fimbinger, Sarah Burnett, (Tristan and Jaden) of Cheboygan,

(Burnett) Hollopeter and family of Cheboygan, and 8 great-great grandchildren. As well as her
sister Bette K (Bill) Ernesse of Florida, along with many nieces and nephews.
