Margaret Grace (Mincel) Cleary

Margaret Grace Cleary, 96, passed away on June 13, 2018 at Independence Village of Petoskey, supported by family, staff, and hospice.

Margaret was born in Detroit on July 13, 1921, to Grace Rebitz and John H. Mincel. She was a high school graduate and secretary for the Disabled Veterans of America, and a member of US Navy Anchorets. Margaret married Durward D. Cleary, beloved husband of 52 years. They resided in Mt. Clemens. She loved to read, cook, gardening and was a master at crossword puzzles. 

Margaret is survived by her sons John (Marilyn) Cleary and Dale Cleary, and grandchildren: Joslyn Cleary Matelski (Dan), Justin Cleary, Gretchen Cleary, and Kristopher Cleary, great grandchildren: Sierra and Kaylee Cleary, Keaton and Kaelyn Matelski, and Ava Barlock and three nieces: Deborah Mincel Smith, Kay Iles, and Julie Scott. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Durward Cleary, brother Donald V. Mincel and granddaughter, Kristen Marie Cleary. 

Margaret was loved and will be missed by all. 

A memorial of life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Independence Village Chapel in Petoskey for family and friends.
