Marion M. (White) Kimble

Marion Mabel Kimble, 97, of Charlevoix, Michigan, passed to her heavenly home on November 27, 2021 at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, Michigan.

Marion was born April 9, 1924, in Boyne City, the daughter of Clare and Ethel (McClellan) White.  She grew up on the family farm and attended school at the North Bay Country School until 8th grade when she transferred to Petoskey High School and graduated in 1942.  She was one of seven children with one brother and five sisters.  At age 19, she moved to Detroit, where she met the love of her life, Jerome “Jerry” Kimble.

On March 2, 1946, Jerry and Marion were married and made their home in Detroit.  Together they raised five children.  In 1960, they moved the family to a farm outside of Charlevoix.  Aside from being a homemaker Marion worked as a bank teller, had several jobs with retailers in the Charlevoix area, and co-owned the former Harbor Hardware with her husband Jerry.

She was a wonderful cook, baker, and artist.  Marion was a talented watercolor and oil painter and dabbled in drawing and poetry. She was a 4-H leader and volunteered at the Hospital gift shop and the Red Cross. Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Marion is survived by her soulmate and husband of 75 years, Jerry; her sister, Clarice Hair; her children, Melody Kimble, Delight (Thomas) Kiebel, Jerry (Rochelle) Kimble, David (Bonnie) Kimble, and Gay (Charles) Kiteley; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Pat, Naomi, Ida, and Lynetta; her brother, Quinton; and her great-grandson, Jax.

Marion’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Grandvue for their dedicated and loving care of Marion during her stay.

A memorial service will be scheduled in May of 2022.   Arrangements are in the care of Stone Funeral Home, Inc.
