Marion "Pat" Weimer

Marion “Pat” Marjorie Weimer, 91 years old of Mackinaw City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2025. Pat was born Feb. 19, 1934 in Nankin Township, MI to August and Marjorie (May) Grabowski, the oldest of 4 children. 

Pat married Fritz (Harvey) Weimer on May 29,1954 in Dearborn, MI.

They had 60 loved filled years together before his passing in 2014.

In 1969, they moved to Indian River where they purchased and ran Ed-Lo Cottages on the river, until 1978, when they moved south of town. During those years, Pat was a member and taught Sunday School and Midweek School, was a trustee, financial secretary and various other offices at Saint John Lutheran Church in Cheboygan. She also was an accomplished golfer at the Indian River Golf Club for many years. Starting in the late 1980’s Pat and Fritz followed the LSSU Laker Hockey team, rarely missing a home weekend and making many road trips with the LSSU Blueliners, meeting and making friends with hockey lovers from around the country and Canada. 

Besides her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Dick Grabowski, sister, Dottie Aldrich, her foster children, Jim May, Kathy Reynolds and SueAnn Earley and 2 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Norm) Cardiff of Sault Ste. Marie, son-in-law, Gary Earley, granddaughter, Megan Cardiff (Harrison) Bryan of Curtis, MI, Tricia (Cody) Vanderwest of Tampa, Fl, Suzanne (Dale) Wood of Grand Rapids, MI, Charlene (Bill) Dehn of Appleton, WI, Andrew (Katie) Earley, of Lansing, MI, Catherine (Wade) Warnecki, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Abraham (Helen) Earley & Anthony (Angela) Earley of Lansing, MI, sister-in-law, Joyce Grabowski of Gaylord, MI plus ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and many “adopted” family. 

Memorial services will take place on Friday, June 27th at Saint John Lutheran Church, 8757 N. Straits Hwy., Cheboygan, MI. Family will receive friends at 10am with service at 11am, with a luncheon to follow. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be left to the scholarship fund via Saint John Lutheran,  Ft. Wayne’s College, Concordia Theological Seminary for new pastors.
