Marjorie "Marge" Jane (Bodzick) Owen

Marjorie "Marge" Jane Owen, 71, of Harbor Springs, passed away June 17, 2020, with her daughter Heather by her side. She was born to the late Joseph and Alice (Hartung) Bodzick October 5, 1948 in Petoskey, Michigan. Marge graduated from Harbor Springs High School in 1966.

She spent a few years living in and traveling around Europe before returning to Harbor Springs to build her life. Marge worked at Burns Clinic Medical Center for over 30 years, and then the Harbor Springs Chamber of Commerce, until she retired in 2017.

She married William "Bill" Owen in 1977, in Harbor Springs, where they made their forever home.

Marge was an extraordinary woman who was passionate about her family and her community. She worked tirelessly for the Jeffrey P. Bodzick Memorial Scholarship Foundation, which awards scholarships to graduates throughout Emmet county each year.

She was so proud to be helping local students with their education. She enjoyed spending time with her family most of all, and felt so lucky to be a part of the tight-knit community in Harbor Springs. Words cannot describe how special Marge was to so many. Some people come into our lives and quickly go, some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.

Marge is survived by her daughter, Heather (Dave) Testa; stepsons Mike (Maureen) Owen, and Dave Owen; sister, Sue (Jim) Richards; and brother, Ted (Kathy) Bodzick. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jeff, and by her loving husband, Bill in 2017.
