**In Loving Memory of Mary Mankin**

On March 19th at 5:51 p.m., Mary Mankin tragically and unexpectedly lost her battle with cancer. She was born in Cheboygan, Michigan, on December 27th, 1966, to Mary Jane Brimacombe. She is survived by her husband, Shawn Mankin, along with her sons Russell Lalonde (Riley, Rileigh, Brennen), Ed Lalonde (Laci, Landin, Ethin, Chandler), and Smudge, her puppy son; her daughters Katie Lalonde-Collene (Nick and Lanee), Laci Lalonde, whom she raised as her own for 18 years, and Heidi Whitehead (Nick); along with her mother, Mary Jane (Janie) Brimacombe; her sisters Doreen Sampson (Rob), Beverly Hahaj (Dave), Julie Brimacombe, Debbie Reynolds, and brother Brandon Brimacombe, all from Cheboygan, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mary worked for 21 years at The Pancake Chef in Mackinaw City. Since 2018, she worked at the senior center on Sand Road. She loved being an employee and working with the members of Straits Area Services. They loved Mary and all she did for them, and she will be deeply missed by all her friends at the senior center. Mary enjoyed mushroom hunting each spring with her husband and family. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and she loved attending their football games and all their sporting events. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was an exceptional cook and baker. She volunteered a lot of her time at the FOE (The Eagles), doing banquets, helping with bingo and salmon tournaments, and whatever event they needed her for. She would gladly volunteer her time anytime they needed her. She was loved dearly by her family and friends, was the glue that held our family together, and will be forever missed by all who knew her. She was a cherished Odawa elder.

The family will receive friends at the Nordman-Christian on Tuesday, March 25th from 12pm (noon) to 1pm.   Services celebrating Mary’s life will immediately follow the visitation at 1pm at the funeral home.
