Mary Patricia Eckhout

Mary Patricia Eckhout, 95 of Cheboygan, MI, died 10/24/2025 at Bay Bluffs in Harbor Springs, MI.  She was born 12/07/1929 in Toledo, OH.  Mary is the daughter of Frank and Mary McGinnis, she grew up in Birmingham, MI.  She attended Michigan State University and belonged to the Gamma Phi Sorority.  On 10/10/1953, she married Frederick C. Eckhout in Birmingham, MI.  Mary was a member of Christ Child Society, Village Women's Club of Bloomfield Hills, Burt Lake Preservation Association, the Garden Club of Indian River and a long time tutor in the community.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frederick C. Eckhout, (parents) Mary and Frank McGinnis and four siblings. She is survived by her children Frederick J Eckhout (Darlene) of Troy, MI,  Kathleen M. Eckhout (Herb) of Reddick, FL,  Mary Jo (Paul) Clark of Cheboygan, MI, Carol (Bill) Cline of Fenton, MO, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. The Rev. Pat Maher of the Indian River Catholic Shrine will officiate a memorial service on May 16, 2026 at 11:00am and burial will take place at Burt - Mullett Township Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children.
