Mary Ann (Shenoskey) Taylor, 83, of Petoskey, walked on on September 8, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Ann was born on November 20, 1936 in Nahma, Michigan, the daughter of Steve and Eva Kathleen (Keway) Shenoskey. She attended school at the Holy Childhood Indian Boarding School.
She married Leonard Ray Taylor in Grand Rapids, MI. in 1982. As the matriarch, Mary gave her family the courage and strength to endure anything life threw at them. She treasured her family and cherished every moment with them. Mary thrived when she was surrounded by her loved ones. She enjoyed listening to music and long drives in the country with her late husband, Leonard. Mary was a master cook in the kitchen and comfort food for family was her favorite dish. Mary leaves behind a strong legacy that won’t soon be forgotten.
She is survived by her three brothers, Edward Shenoskey, Steve Shenoskey and Richard Shenoskey; one sister, Jeanette Shenoskey; children, Diana Peltier (Zane), Roberta Hinman, Ben Hinmon (Sharon), Rhonda Shalifoe, Gus Hinmon, Eva Hinmon and Merry Hinmon; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Taylor; her siblings, Jim Shenoskey, Sam Shenoskey and Rose Fauvel; and her children, Bernice Hinmon, Robert Hinmon and David Hinmon.
There will be a celebration of life at the Salvation Army Hall (712 Pleasant Street, Petoskey MI 49770) on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a feast at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Zane Peltier will officiate.
