Mary Jo (Dunne) Chipman

Mary Jo Chipman, age 88, of Boyne City, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

Daughter of Lucille and Bernie Dunne, Mary Jo was born July 3, 1936 in Petoskey, Michigan.  She grew up in Petoskey, attended Petoskey High School, graduating in 1955.  She moved to Boyne City in, 1975 when she was married to Willard J. Chipman.

Mary Jo is survived by her son Jerry Phenney, step-daughter Kristine (Chipman) Walker, step-son Phillip Chipman, and adopted daughter Cathy Liek.  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents Lucille and Bernie Dunne and her husband Willard J. Chipman,

Mary Jo will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched with her kindness, determination, and quiet grace.
