Matthew Paul Rogers

On March 14th, 2024, Matthew Paul Rogers passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his family. Matt was born on December 16th, 1956, in Wayne County Michigan to Stanley and Mary Rogers. As a youth, Matt moved to Northern Michigan, where he attended Harbor Springs High School, graduating in 1975.

Matt was a hard worker. He had his own house painting business and he worked diligently throughout his life to support his family. In 1988, Matt met Diana Keller. Matt and Diana shared an extraordinarily strong bond of love and in 1990 their son Sean was born. Matt was overjoyed to have a son and loved him deeply. Family meant everything to Matt. Matt lived in Readmond Township, then later bought a house in Bliss, Michigan. He always grew a big garden and canned homegrown food for his family and friends.

Matt loved to hunt and fish, preferring to spend his time outdoors among the woods and lakes. Throughout the years he got plenty of big bucks, many fish, and a generous helping of Morel mushrooms. He loved nature, from feeding birds in his yard to planting fruit trees.

Matt will be fondly remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to family, and gentle caring nature. Matt is survived by Diana Keller; his son Sean; and his sisters Michelle Lewis and Kathy Rogers. Matt’s passing was preceded by his mother, father, and brother Mark.

A memorial service for Matt will be held at Schiller Funeral Home in Harbor Springs on April 12th at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Cross Village cemetery with a lunch afterwards at the Cross Village Hall.
