Maureen Neff-Mayne Obituary

Maureen Neff-Mayne passed away peacefully on March 29, 2021 at her Perry Farm residence surrounded by her family at age eighty seven. She was born on March 31, 1933.

In 1952 Maureen married Mort Neff. She has two children:  James (Jay) Neff of Harbor Springs, and Sara Neff Matthews of Petoskey.

Her soul landed in Good Hart with Mort Neff in 1958, and they pioneered a life between remote Good Hart and Birmingham.

In 1974 they moved permanently to Harbor Springs, and became active in the Harbor Springs community.

She later married Edward Mayne of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Together they cultivated and developed GoodHart Farms which was later donated to the Little Traverse Conservancy the GoodHart Farms Nature Preserve.

The Legacy of Maureen Neff Mayne lives on in her children and grandchildren in the Harbor-Petoskey area.

She is survived by her children: Son: James Neff, Spouse Shawn Neff - Children Hannah and Forrest Neff. Daughter: Sara Neff Matthews, Spouse Paul Matthews. Children - Quinn & Todd Matthews. Sister: Marni Ostrowski and Brother- In- Law: Kenneth Ostrowski.

Maureen was a life-long  member of the Harbor Springs Presbyterian Church, and Choir.

She was known for her silent generosity and often gifted anonymously to those in her community.
