Michael Lee Boda, 43, of Indian River passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Medilodge in Rogers City. He was born in Cheboygan on July 13, 1978, the son of Richard Boda, Sr. and Jeanne Terry.
Michael was raised and went to school in Cheboygan and Petoskey, graduating from Petoskey High School. He loved to play guitar, fishing on the Tribal boats with his brother, Richard, and spending time with his family and his dog, Buddy.
In 2009, when Michael was diagnosed with Hungtington’s Disease, Michael’s life slowed down.
Michael is survived by his mother, Jeanne, a brother, Richard (Kim) Boda, sisters, Renee (Matt) Parker and Monica (Bryan) Klawuhn, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard and his dog, Buddy.
Michael is loved dearly by his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at all of the nursing facilities that Michael resided at and a special thank you to Michael’s friends at Hospice of Michigan in Rogers City.
A memorial service will take place at the Stone Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Indian River on Friday, May 20 at noon with family greeting friends one hour prior.
The Native American ceremony, Walking on Spirit Fire, has begun May 10 and will go on for four days. Those wishing to join may do so at 3923 Old State Rd. Brutus, Michigan.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Michael’s name be made to Hospice of Michigan.
