Michael John Fortune

Michael John Fortune 51 of Boyne Falls Michigan passed away at his home Tuesday evening September 17, 2019.

Mike was born on February 1st, 1968 in Petoskey the son of Norman J. and Gloria J. (Coon) Fortune. Mike was the owner of Mike’s Quality Plumbing and Heating. He was hard-working honest, and helped many people. He enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, camping, kayaking and getting dirty on the side-by-side; but most of all he loved his family and friends. Mike was known and loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Mike is survived by his wife Billie Jo Fortune; children Stephanie (Alex) Kopenkoskey, Michael J Fortune; step children Jessica (Ryan) McFarlan, Jennifer Oom  and Rexford McPhee; sisters Yvonne Leski, Norma Waisanen, Susan (Brian) Meads and Gail Fortune; brother Patrick Fortune; grandchildren Korbin and Izabella Kopenkoskey, Lydia Evans, Deegan and Declan McFarlan, Parker, Carter and Reese Dobb and Finleigh McPhee; mother and father in-law Les and RuthAnn Hardy and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Norman and Gloria Fortune.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” held on October 26th, 2019 at the Eagles in Boyne City from 2:00 - 6:00 pm.
